At this point I'm looking for a relatively quick fix on some old material that I don't want to spend a ton of time on. SD3 has a superb feature where you can do all the drums at once in the same instance and then export a midi file with all the instruments automatically mapped to the kit. Alternatively, you can route from trigger to your drum program directly. For every drum track you want to convert to MIDI you'll have to set the note and then merge the midi files together. You can to play the song through to cache the midi and then you can drag it onto your project. Trigger is also cheaper.Įxporting MIDI in Trigger is cumbersome though. I get false triggers from SD3 that I can remove with the Trigger. Trigger does seem to do a better job of dealing with bleed. Superior Drummer 3 is the better program for this though apart from the gate, which Trigger wins hands down for me. The included sounds are pretty good and you can create a midi file if you want to hook it up to a drum sampler, like SSD5 (mentioned above). It works well and has a good gate for removing bleed.
